“My interest is in the future because that’s where I’m going to spend the rest of my life.” Charles F Kettering
Solution-focused therapy has helped thousands of people to overcome many difficulties including
- anxiety
- depression
- phobias
- unwanted habits or behaviours
A solution-focused approach concentrates on what you want to change in your life right now and helps to map out with you a way that suits you to get there, aiming to cultivate what has become known as good emotional intelligence. This approach is forward-looking rather than only getting the drains up on the problems of the past although there’s plenty of time and space to go into anything you want.
I use and teach techniques which have been shown to be very effective in getting results – things like relaxation techniques, guided imagery and visualisation as well as adapting thinking styles, using cognitive behavioural techniques (CBT), helping you to look at things in a different way.
Learning the right techniques is almost like putting together your own toolbox to help you to manage things in the way you want for the future.
Generally the number of sessions ranges from two to six.
I offer evening and weekend appointments as well as advice by telephone or email. You can now book online (and check availability) - just go to the contact and online booking section on this website.
